SUMMARY:Black Powder Level I Course (please open event for more info)
DESCRIPTION:This course will introduce the beginner or novice black powder shooter to the various types of traditional (pre-1900) black power firearms. It will not cover the contemporary in-line style black powder firearms. \nYou do not have to have a black powder firearm to take this course (but if you have a black powder rifle\, original or reproduction\, please bring it\, along with your shooting supplies). \nYou will be introduced to the range of black powder firearms including flintlock\, percussion\, and cartridge firearms; ignition sources and styles; loading with different projectiles from a patched ball to cartridges; care and cleaning methods; what to include in your black powder shooting supply kit\, including tools\, cleaners\, etc.; storage of your shooting supplies; and a range of other fundamentals. \nThe course will include classroom\, range time\, demonstrations\, exercises\, and an opportunity to fire black powder firearms. \nAfter this course you will have the basic knowledge to start and enjoy this growing shooting sport. \nCourse description: one day course\, starting at 9:30 am; bring eye and ear protection; and if you have a Black Powder rifle\, your Black Powder rifle and your shooting supplies (25 shots) \nNumber of students: 8 \nCost: $150 \nRegistration: the course will be open for online registration in March \nClubhouse and Range R2 are reserved for this event (all other ranges are open to the members)
