DESCRIPTION:National Rifle Course: \nNo drop-ins permitted; you must be pre-registered for this course. \nPlease check your Club emails for registration info. \nThis is a Nationally recognized rifle course\, from the new rifle shooter to the experienced and competitive rifle shooter. \nParticipants work through a series of drills and coaching sessions that emphasize the core principles of rifle shooting\, including: \n\nProper shooting positions (prone\, seated/kneeling\, standing)\nNatural point of aim (NPOA)\nSight alignment and sight picture\nBreath and trigger control\nFollow-through\n\nThe day is capped off with the “Mapleseed Qualification Test” (MQT)\, a challenging but fun 40-round scored course of fire. Shooters who score 210 or higher out of 250 earn the coveted Rifleman Patch—a National symbol of consistent for MOA accuracy. \nThe course starts at 8:30 am and ends at 4:30 pm. The clubhouse and Pistol 1 & Rifle 1 are reserved for this course. \nAll other ranges will be available to the members.

DESCRIPTION:This course will introduce the beginner or novice black powder shooter to the various types of traditional (pre-1900) black power firearms. It will not cover the contemporary in-line style black powder firearms. \nYou do not have to have a black powder firearm to take this course (but if you have a black powder rifle\, original or reproduction\, please bring it\, along with your shooting supplies). \nYou will be introduced to the range of black powder firearms including flintlock\, percussion\, and cartridge firearms; ignition sources and styles; loading with different projectiles from a patched ball to cartridges; care and cleaning methods; what to include in your black powder shooting supply kit\, including tools\, cleaners\, etc.; storage of your shooting supplies; and a range of other fundamentals. \nThe course will include classroom\, range time\, demonstrations\, exercises\, and an opportunity to fire black powder firearms. \nAfter this course you will have the basic knowledge to start and enjoy this growing shooting sport. \nCourse description: one day course\, starting at 9:30 am; bring eye and ear protection; and if you have a Black Powder rifle\, your Black Powder rifle and your shooting supplies (25 shots) \nNumber of students: 8 \nCost: $150 \nRegistration: the course will be open for online registration in March \nClubhouse and Range R2 are reserved for this event (all other ranges are open to the members)

DESCRIPTION:This is a great course for anyone who owns or is looking to purchase a shotgun. This course is for beginners and shotgun shooters who want to become a better shotgun shooter. \nYou do not have to have a shotgun to take this course (but if you have a shotgun please bring it\, along with your shells). \nYou will be introduced to the range of different shotgun firearms; a review of basic shotgun shells; chokes; and different shooting patterns. Also\, basic shooting fundamentals and principles of shooting moving targets. \nThere will be a review of the proper technique for loading\, unloading\, and changing loads in your shotgun. Which choke to choose\, the proper sight picture\, proper stance\, trigger actuation\, movement and other fundamentals will be reviewed.
